What does 'tripartite' mean?
ADHA is a Tripartite organization, meaning it is an organization of three parts. National (ADHA), Constituents (WDHA) and Components (sections of the state, in Wisconsin there are eight local components – please refer to the contact us page for more details)

Who can be a member?
There are many different membership categories within ADHA, to be a full voting member the applicant must be a licensed dental hygienist.

The 8 components of WDHA
There are eight components in Wisconsin. On another page of this website there is a component map. If you have questions about which component area you might be in, contact WDHA at info@rdhwdha.com for clarification.

1 Milwaukee 6 (Formerly Waukesha – currently consolidated with Madison and Milwaukee components.)
2 Madison 7 Kettle Moraine
3 Fox Valley 8 La Crosse
4 Bay Area 9 Eau Claire

Meetings
Each component has its own officers including trustee, president and treasurer. The components often hold meetings, have study club sessions, continuing education courses, organize community oral health projects and social gatherings. This is where you can get to know your fellow hygienists and get involved.

Board of Trustees and House Delegates
Four times each year there is a meeting of the officers and trustees from each component - the Board of Trustees meeting. Once each year there is an annual session where elected delegates from each component meet to make decisions about the work and the policies of WDHA - the House of Delegates.

Lobbyist
WDHA employs lobbyists who monitor legislation that is important to the profession of dental hygiene and attend the Dental Examining Board meetings in Madison. The lobbyist also assists in drafting and promoting new legislation when the Board of Trustees or House of Delegates directs them to do so.
